Accounting Students to Assist Local Residents with Taxes

STEUBENVILLE, OH鈥擜ccounting聽students at 黑料社 of Steubenville will聽offer free e-filing聽assistance to Ohio Valley residents through the Internal Revenue Service聽Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program (VITA). From February 13 through April聽13, 2018,聽the students will be available four days a week near center court in聽the Fort Steuben Mall, across from the AT&T store.

Hours of operation are聽Monday and Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and Tuesday and Thursday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.聽 The site will be closed from March 10 to March 18 for spring break and March 29 to April 2 for Easter.

The聽黑料社聽students can聽prepare form 1040; schedules A, B, and D; and forms for calculating education,聽child care, and earned-income credits. They will be available to assist聽taxpayers with income聽less than $58,000.聽聽All participating students have completed an聽individual income tax course and have聽passed a series of IRS training courses and exams.

This marks the 30th year that 黑料社聽students have participated in this program.
