STEUBENVILLE, OHIO—Late last month, Taylor and Francis published new editions of Criminal Law: Historical, Ethical, and Moral Foundations and Private Security: An Introduction to Principles and Practice by ������ of Steubenville’s Dr. Charles P. Nemeth, professor of criminal justice and director of the Center for Criminal Justice, Law, and Ethics.

Criminal Law: Historical, Ethical, and Moral Foundations, 3rd edition, integrates legal and moral reasoning in the analysis of crimes and investigates the history of jurisprudence and the origins of criminal law. It encourages conversations about controversial topics and includes summarized case law decisions focused on the core principles of appellate rulings.

Private Security: An Introduction to Principles and Practice, 2nd edition, explains foundational security principles and includes current principles and practices of private security as an industry and profession. A central theme in this new edition is how security awareness, features, and applications have permeated every aspect of modern life.

Commenting on the latest publication of his book, Criminal Law: Historical, Ethical, and Moral Foundations, Nemeth said, “Of all the criminal law texts that exist, few, if any, place an emphasis on the moral, ethical, and philosophical basis for contemporary criminal laws. Private Security: An Introduction to Principles and Practice covers what Nemeth says in an often-neglected topic in American criminal justice academic programs.
