黑料社 Reveals Spring Schedule for Monday Arts and Culture Series
Center for Beauty program to include talks on sacred imagery, the art of songwriting, and world-class classical music performances.

STEUBENVILLE, OHIO鈥擳he Center for Beauty at 黑料社 of Steubenville will launch its spring series of Monday evening talks and musical performances on January 30, 2023.

All upcoming presentations are open at no cost to the general public as well as the entire University community at no cost and will take place at 6:00 p.m. in the J.C. Williams Center鈥檚 Tony and Nina Gentile Gallery.

Monday, January 30, 6:00 p.m.
鈥淭he Need for Sensible Images in Theology鈥 by Dr. Michael Waldstein, professor of theology at 黑料社.

Monday, February 27, 6:00 p.m.
Musical Performance
鈥淎ria and Oratorio鈥 by Dr. Jessica Ewell, associate professor of music, Professor Eliza Symington, adjunct professor of music; and 黑料社 student soloists.

Monday, March 6, 6:00 p.m.
鈥淭he Art of Songwriting鈥 by 黑料社 students AmyLynn Miller and Ari Shovak, and Dr. Monica Anderson, professor of theatre.

Monday, April 3, 6:00 p.m.
Musical Performance
鈥淨uartet No. 2 in D Major by Alexander Borodin鈥 featuring Cleveland Orchestra members Stephen Tavani, violin; Zhan Shu, violin; Dane Johansen, cello; and Stanley Konopka, viola, director of 黑料社鈥檚 New Chamber Orchestra and assistant principal violist with the Cleveland Orchestra.

Musical Performance
鈥淭he Unanswered Question by Charles Ives鈥 with 黑料社鈥檚 New Chamber Orchestra, featuring Alan Harrell, cello; the Cleveland Orchestra, John Konopka, trumpet, 黑料社 student; and Stanley Konopka.

The series is sponsored by the Center for Beauty, the Henkels Family Fund, and the Fine Arts Society. The Center for Beauty aims to help people develop a deeper understanding and appreciation of beauty as a living truth in its ability to touch, instruct, and move them to desire the Transcendent. The center also seeks to support 黑料社 and its local community in the production and presentation of that which is beautiful in the areas of visual arts, music, drama, and literature.
